One of my thoughts for future – you know, that future “when I have enough money and time” (that type of thing whicht never happens unless you start doing it right now) – so one of my thoughts was to buy a caravan and travel across my beloved Australia, visiting new places, experience new things, getting insight into how people live in different areas…
It sounded like it could be a good adventure, good enough for times when you don’t need to care about some things you have to care now. Many people do it and enjoy.
So what happened to that thought recently?
Our trip to Malaysia changed me. It changed how I see things and gave me a new level of understanding of… many things, one of which was where I want to go and what I want to experience. It was just an amazing change in my head.
I felt the difference of being among locals and being in the same place when it becomes more touristy. And I no longer know which experience I like more – a spicy or a safer one.
So when now I think what I would likely do when I will be rich and famous when I will have nothing else to much care about, driving a caravan around Australia does not sound appealing anymore…
Why?
Because this journey is much likely predictable, not much challenging, places, even they do differ, they are much likely the same. Or at least it started to look like that.
It does not look spicy enough to spend time on this anymore, especially when you discovered that there are feelings that can drive you almost crazy and you can get them only getting far outside your or any standard box.
There are many places not yet visited by me that can boost emotions and feelings.
Why then to spend time on things that are clear and understandable enough?
So, when I retire, I thought I will drive a caravan. Will I?…
New experiences and new knowledge bring a new angle and new perspective into our life. And it’s fantastic!
Today I accidentally found a TV show about 4wd driving in Australia (“Pat Callinan’s 4×4 adventures”) You can get to amazing places, during driving you can experience so much fun! It can be really challenging sometimes. It all sounded sooo exciting!
On their web site I noticed a small… caravan… it was attached to a 4wd car. A moment later on TV they showed that caravan and told a bit about it. It was a special one designed specifically for rough 4wd driving.
“Wow”, I said to myself. “Hmm”, I thought…
One day I wanted to drive a caravan across Australia… Hmm… Will I? ;-)
Have it ever happened to you – when new experience and knowledge radically changed your plans about your future?
